|04:18 pm - Update...|
I haven't updated in a long time. This is, in part, due to the looming sense of insecurity I now feel on livejournal based on a past conflict. Damn I hate feeling so insecure. This topic requires no further expansion at this time.
Having said that, I can get on with the post.
I just moved in with Dan, Laura, and Jenn. I hadn't, before today, checked livejournal for almost 2 weeks. Moving, exam period, etc. has kept me beyond busy. I'm still busy. Don't get me wrong. But I have time to make a short update. Let's see. I still have to do the following before the semester is officially over:
There are also a number of things I have to do that aren't school related:
- African Dance Rehearsal (11th)
- African Dance Performance (12th)
- Psychological Testing and Measurement Final Exam (15th)
- Archaeology Final Exam (17th)
- Write Race, Ethnicity and Nationalism Final Paper (due 14th)
- Religion and Identity take-home Final Exam (due 16th via email)
- Bones, Bodies and Disease Final Exam (19th)
- Read an entire book on Keatley Creek (before exam on 17th)
I went to see a play at The Big Top 3 Ring Circus last night. It was so funny. I highly recommend "A Christmas Carol for George Wallace" for all of you in the New Orleans area because it's hilarious. My night would have been better last night had I made out with a stranger. But that didn't happen. I had fun anyway.
- SEE GULU!!!!! I'm SUPER excited to see you, my love.
- See Chappy perform at d.b.a. tonight (10th)
- Try to go to Bacchanal tonight (10th) if I can find anyone to go with me
- See Amy Steinberg while she's in town (15th at Neutral Ground)
- Pack for Jacksonville/Miami/Atlanta (before 20th)
- Finish Madonna costume for "Stereotypical Italian" theme party in Miami...IF ANYONE HAS A POINTED BRA...
- Try and make out with virtually unknown hot Turkish dude (please don't mock my desperation..haha. I think I just did.)
- Oh, so much to do.
P.S. I wore pointy shoes last night for the first time ever. It was really really strange.
Current Location: new apartment
Current Mood: ugh
Current Music: Arrested Development (TV show...not the band right now)
how was psych testing and measuring as a class? i'm signed up to take it and not gonna lie, i'm a little scared.
It's not bad. The material is a little dry, but Professor Alvarez is adorable. I always laugh at her corny jokes. It's MUCH easier than Univariate. No worries.
Sorry I couldn't make it to the Chappy show last night. I got home and expected that my roommates would've gotten some painting done over the 3 days I was gone, but instead they were still filling in "cracks" with wood filler and other such mundane and rather unnecessary things. So I was in there until 1am painting the molding and baseboards. I had a pretty horrible night and almost got into a really severe fight with both of them, so I probably wasn't in a mood for social interaction anyway. Hope your finals work out so that you can make it to the party this Saturday.
I hope I can make it to the party on Saturday, as well. I'm sorry to hear that you had such a rough night last night. Anything I can do?
Eh, not much will fix the mood I'm in except this room getting done. But hopefully that will be done by no later than Wednesday. Then I just have to run around like a crazy person and get ready for the party! I can't believe you moved in with Dan. That's so nifty. Now we're all close by. We should stop being lazy and make a more concerted effort to go out and do things / hang out. Or go to Lebanon's (since you're ever so close now).
Yeah. I moved in with Dan, Jenn, and Laura. It's cool. I like them. And I LOVE being so close to Lebanon's. I had a lunch date there today! YAY!
Although you appear to be super busy (as usual), you also appear to be in relatively good spirits--at least that is the vibe I am getting from this post. I too have not posted in a long time. Am I lazy--am I overwhelmed--am I just content and not need to post??? Don't know, and I am not going to overly analyze it.
Perhaps I sound cheerier because I figured out a way to actively block that one person from my friends only livejournal posts. Is that passive aggressive? Ugh. Anyway.
I should probably be posting more often. So should you...
So true grasshopper!!! I think so much is happening in my life that it is hard to start a post. Where does one start? At the beginning? But where is the beginning? Anyhoo, I have a request. I need the name of a hilarious movie that will be enjoyed by two adults and a 12 year old. One that is age appropriate for a child. Any ideas?
Hmmm. Little Miss Sunshine? Ha. Umm. Season 2 of House on DVD? The Devil Wears Prada? Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl? The Princess Bride? Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit? Those are some ideas.
P.S. I have NO idea where to start a post. Keep in mind that I haven't written a REAL post in quite some time...

it's good to have you in the house...and as for random stranger turkish dude...i will arrange making out or at least conversation if i have to drag him somewhere by his ear.
According to thefacebook.com, he'll be attending my African Dance performance. That assures that there will be no making out in our future. Oh well. I really suck at African Dance.
If making out could still occur after I embarrass myself to no end...That would be cool.
It's good to BE in the house with you all. You're all so great.

heh...he's friends with the likes of me, don't worry about self embarrassment. it's basically how we all say howdy.

hey! I sent you a myspace message explaining how not having a phone is soooo complicated so I'm sorry I haven't called. I'll stay with Jen and will be fine, but I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU. I'm likely to have my Mom's phone when I visit, so even though I'll call you before then, we'll be able to make plans when I get there. <3 you do NOT know how excited I am!!!
YAY! I MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!!
P.S. Amy Steinberg will be here on the 15th? When do you get here?
